campy, entertaining
I didn't expect a lot from this film so I was surprised that it was campy and entertaining.
It's an amalgamation of several popular stories with plot twists, Pygmalion, Oliver Twist, and others, but it was well done and I would recommend it.
I watched the ending via IA's display but I prefer Quicktime since I can adjust the contrast and other picture-quality parameters to get the best possible viewing.
Ginger Rogers is very talented. I've never liked the GR & Fred Astaire movies so I didn't have a lot of expectations regarding this one. Basil Rathbone was one of the better actors of his time. Not as attractive as Ms. Rogers, though.
